Why SAB Rejects http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/?
- A relatively large constellation of SONOS speakers operating in SONOS NET mode. I can see on the router that every device on SONOS has an IP address of 192.168.1.XX
- Two Nvidia Shield devices. Also, with IP addresses 192.168.1.XX.
I have connected some TVs wirelessly (also 192 addresses).
I only recently noticed this messaging behavior which has now stopped as it change from “NO ACCESS” to “FULL WEB ACCESS.”
Interestingly, I changed it back to “NO ACCESS,” and the messages came back. When I changed it back to FULL WEB INTERFACE, the letters stopped again.
Reason For Error
On my Synology NAS, I use EXPRESS VPN as the network interface (in a bonded connection).
I just disabled the VPN http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/, and the messages stopped immediately. (with NO ACCESS setting)
Then I re-enabled the VPN, and oddly the messages didn’t start again. (with NO ACCESS setting)
I’ll keep watching this to see if anything changes again, but that seems to have solved it.
Web UI Login
http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/ in Chrome on Android to login to sabnzbd up to this latest version. I enter my name and password, the monitor refreshes, and then I am prompted for the login screen again. The issue only exists with Chrome on Android, but it works fine with Firefox for Android.
However, when I access http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/ remotely (via NAT with the setting: External Internet Access = Full Web Interface), the login works, and the UI loads, but just as the loading process finishes, it returns the login page will appear.
Also, http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/ It appears to enforce authentication on local logins. Also, even when the General option is set to the opposite. No problem.
Conclusion
I use plush. Authentication is base on a cookie associated with your IP.
I am a developer and have found that cookies http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/ should never be associated with an IP. It is because IP addresses for the same user can change with each request (cellular connections, old AOL, etc.). It may explain my earlier problem with logging in from a smartphone.
http://holly2010:8080.home/sabnzbd/login/ While IP-Link can be overprotective, Sab allows you to access your PC and run scripts remotely. So if people don’t use HTTPS (and many don’t) and their cookies on a public Wi-Fi network, we want to limit usage as much as possible.
